Andrew Edmonds

Andrew has been butchering since the age of 15, when he started as a Saturday boy at a local butchers while still at school. Leaving school he joined the butchery fulltime and worked there till the age of 18. Andrew was always keen to better himself and move forward, he left and spent the next three years working for Sainsbury’s where he worked his way up through the grades, also going onto relief managing jobs for Sainsbury’s in Walthamstow London. Although pay was good Andrew missed his friends and also wished to own his own shop one day.
Andrew then took over running a small family butchers shop working on his own, this taught him to run a shop and he enjoyed working face to face with the customers again. Andrew still keen to learn and advance his knowledge of butchery had a chance to work at a boning plant where he learnt to bone very quickly boning 8 hours a day. Then came the opportunity for Andrew to take his own shop and jumped at it, the Bradwell Butchery and took over running the shop in January 1986 where he first worked on his own before employing more staff as the business grew.
Andrew always keen and competitive travelled the country entering competitions winning many accolades around the country for Sausages, Pies, Burgers, Hams, and ready Meals, this helped make the business grow and gaining a national reputation countrywide, even winning Butchers Shop of the Year in 2011 for the Midlands and East of England.
In 2010 Andrew still had ambition and realising he needed more space to achieve his goals he had the opportunity to take the shop next door and expand the business opening a bakery and delicatessen to complement the butchery. This has been a fantastic success and the business continues to grow and try new things and innovate new products.
In Andrew’s spare time he has many hobbies, he likes to paint and sculpt even holding his own one-man exhibition and having his work exhibited in galleries around the country.
