ART COMES TO LIFE WITH PAINTED COW AT NORFOLK SHOW

Norfolk Show cow paintingLocal children will come face to face with a living work of art at the Norfolk Show this week, as butcher and artist Andrew Edmonds paints a live cow, showing its internal organs and the position of an unborn calf. This unique artistic endeavour is part of the “Over the Farmer’s Hedge” Education exhibit, which you can find at stand 14. The aim is to help children gain an appreciation of where food comes from and the processes that involved in producing it.

Andrew is proprietor of Bradwell Butchery, winner of numerous awards including Butcher of the Year 2010 in the Midlands and East region. In creating the painted cow, he’ll be drawing on his expert knowledge of animal anatomy, gained from a lifetime of butchery. He’ll also be demonstrating the skills that have brought him much acclaim as a painter and sculptor.

To find out more about what goes on inside a cow and to see a work of art that really is living and breathing, head to stand 14 at the Norfolk Show.
