In House Rivalries at BPEX Roadshow

Next week’s BPEX Roadshow will see dozens of product entries from Bradwell Butchery, coming from numerous product categories and developed by different staff members. There will be more than a little in house rivalry as we find out which sausage, pie or bacon comes out top.

Ryan will be entering the Young Sausage Maker competition with three mouth watering bangers. These include a Traditional Pork sausage, tangy Lemon Pepper Pork and the distinctly oriental flavoured Cantonese Pork. We think Ryan has really taken off as a sausage maker and is producing some delicious treats, but will the judges agree? We’re also entering a range of traditional pork sausages, some of our tastiest speciality pork sausages and our top Beefy Beef banger. The Young Sausage Maker title went to Megan last year, so it will be a nail biting wait to see if it remains held in Bradwell.

We’re also entering the new Chicken, Ham and Cheese pies that Lee recently developed from Peter Mellors’ original recipe. Not to be out done, Richard is entering his delicious deep filled Steak Pie. There are no less than three different types of traditional pork pie being entered by the Butchery, plus Veal and Ham and Game and cranberry speciality pies.

In Speciality Pork Products, we’re submitting Alan’s famous Pork Cheese and David’s Haslet, which is a new product made to the traditional Lincolnshire recipe. As if all this isn’t enough, we’ve also got entries for smoked and unsmoked gammon, streaky bacon and smoked and unsmoked back bacon.

Last year saw huge success for Andrew and Megan. As well as the Young Sausage Maker title, together they took home four more champion titles, ten gold awards and nine silver awards. That’s quite a standard to live up to.
